It is a great refreshing face wash that I use pre-shaving

Sure Winner
I have been using this product for years now.
I love the bottle. It looks nice. Easy to hold and use. It dispenses a perfect amount. You don't need a lot to lather up. Only downside is it's not good for traveling. I left it in my toiletry bag and it poured out. Besides that:
It makes your face glow (energizing) after use.
It gets your senses up in the morning with the refreshing smell of it.
I always follow by using a Facial Fuel SPF 15. My face will get too dry without it. Definitely noticed results fast.
It has a fragrance ingredient. Some people will not like that.

Excellent in the morning
This cleanser lathers very nicely and smells great. It really wakes you up; it is not too strong though! It refreshes your face and makes you feel great!

One of the best men's face cleansers one can find
I have used this product since it came out a few years ago. It lathers readily such that a bottle lasts a VERY long time. The scent is bracing, but light. My skin feels thoroughly clean, but never dried out. I realize it has caffeine as an ingredient. Not sure if caffeine really does anything if applied topically, but I pretend that it does anyway. The only downside is the bottle. The cap on this and other similar Kiehl's products is not good for travel. (I gave up after 3 of these on other Kiehl's products leaked in my toiletries bag during a flight.) Wonderful product, but if you fly..watch out. You will be rinsing your bag in the hotel bathtub.

Not versatile enough to be your only cleanser
This is a great product for cleaning your skin without drying it out, but it is not versatile enough to be your only cleanser. Whenever I have some dry or rough skin on my face -- especially in the winter -- I find that this face wash just cleans the surface and does not improve the texture of my skin at all. Even though this face wash doesn't claim to be an exfoliant, it is nonetheless frustrating to have to use another product or a cloth to take off dry skin and restore even texture. I'm not fussy about my skin, but I do like it to be in good shape.
Another down side is that it sometimes dries out your skin, even though the label states that it works "without an over-drying effect". If you use this face wash and then shave, expect to use a fair bit of moisturizer to keep dryness away.
On the plus side it smells great, produces great lather, rinses off easily, and leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean. I use it at the end of my shower before shaving, and it helps soften hair and prepare the skin for a comfortable shave.
Overall a good product, but not as excellent as the other Kiehl's stuff I use (Facial Fuel, Facial Fuel SPF 15, Lite Flite Shave Cream).
