Kiehl’s is committed to regenerating our Canadian forests
As part of the L'Oréal for the Future program, Kiehl's Canada – together with its partner Tree Canada – is committed to regenerating our Canadian forests.
Tree Canada is a national non-profit organisation dedicated to planting and nurturing trees in rural and urban environments.
Kiehl’s donation contributes to the most ambitious reforestation project ever undertaken in Canada's Northwest Territories, launched by Tree Canada in collaboration with the Tłı̨chǫ Government and Let's Plant Trees. The goal of this project is to plant 1 million trees in areas devastated by unprecedented forest fires in recent years. It will restore important wildlife habitats, including that of the boreal caribou, while helping to combat climate change.
‘Strong Like Two People’
The project embodies the Tłı̨chǫ philosophy of ‘Strong Like Two People,’ as it draws heavily on traditional Tłı̨chǫ knowledge and is supported by Western science. Tłı̨chǫ elders, forestry specialists and trainees are working together to identify priority planting areas and tree species best suited for reforesting caribou habitat.
